For a Missed Poetry Covid Zoom
September 3, 2020
Scattered thoughts Stomp across the page
Leaving dark Traces of wasted hours
Sacrificed to an Invisible Enemy.
When Tyranny is toppled,
Will the heart become a beating bird of Joy,
Or have the Prickly moments
Be counted as lost opportunities
For gleaning a last glimmer
Of our souls’ Magnificence?
Will we settle for human constraints
And reapply our farce-filled images
To confirm to society’s rules?
Stay safe my soul, ring True again.
