This week, I’m participating in author Nancy Gideon’s Haunted Open House Blog Hop!
The Legend of Sleepy Hollow
Taking bullying and competition for a maiden’s hand to the extreme this harrowing tale stays with me. The book was bad enough, but the movie with all the special affects never leaves me undisturbed. Washington Irving’s story builds from the lazy citizens exploits toward the turbulent night of horror. I forget what happens to the victim. I suspect he just scurries permanently out of town, leaving the villain the spoils of affections.

Follow Along!
there was an old tavern that was made of log & planks near where I grew up along the highway in section where it split around a creek bed with lots of curves and woods and not much else along that stretch of road. it was called Sleepy Hollow Inn. on dreary night when the fog would come up off the creek & inch up the hillsides, you could well imagine the story coming to life long ago (and be grateful that your parents drove a car that could well out pace any ghost horse that may appear)
Wow you lived in the story.
I would love to see
The Legend of Sleepy Hollow movie
The story keeps being retold.
The Legend of Sleepy Hollow is a good one! I’ve never seen the movie, though. I love the picture you posted! Thanks for participating in the blog hop!
I’ve watched the movie with Johnny Depp and Christina Ricci, MJ – I thought it was good. Christopher Walken is exceptionally creepy and gruesome.
Ooh! Christopher Walken always creeps me out! He’s pretty funny, though. I’ve seen him on Saturday Night Live.
Johnny Depp is my favorite actor.
You’re welcome. My GirlFriday, Florence Price, found the pictures. She’s a gem.
I know Florence, and I’d have to agree with you 100%!
Have you watched the TV show Sleepy Hollow on Fox? The third season just started. It’s pretty good.
I’ve watched it, Leigh – I love it! I also like Grimm – Season 5 starts this Friday! 🙂
Thanks for the reminder! Though, I’m still pretty mad about how season 4 ended!
I haven’t watched it, but it looks good…and that guy is pretty hot!
Thanks, I didn’t know about it.
Love the picture – I haven’t seen the film but I’d love to!
Netflix is always an option, right?
I’ve seen the movie and enjoyed it.

The story remains a classic.
I know of the legend but I don’t watch TV or movies. I am a reader. Thanks for being part of the blog hop.
Thanks for the chance!
